Reading claim application exports before you submit

A short checklist for spotting duplicate plot IDs and transport spikes in agricultural grant claim applications.

Before a claim window closes, export the history from whatever application or portal your scheme uses. Even a flat spreadsheet is enough for a first app analytics pass.

Look for three patterns

  1. Duplicate identifiers — the same plot, member, or invoice number appearing across tranches without a clear reason.
  2. Coding drift — transport coded as inputs in one season and as logistics in the next.
  3. Spikes without field notes — sudden jumps in haulage or contractor lines that lack delivery tickets.

A thirty-minute habit

Assign one person to open the export, sort by amount, and sample the top ten lines against vouchers. That habit catches more agricultural grant accounting errors than a last-day scramble.
